THINGS TO EXPECT?

 

From 22-26th September, Luka Beograd will be the central venue for the performances both from the main and from the side programmes. The five performances from the main programme that the audience will have a chance to see there are: Immoral Tales - Part 1: Mother House, by Non nova company (Nantes, France), authored by Phia Ménard and Jean-Luc Beaujault, On Flesh and Concrete choreographed by Luciana Lara in the production of  Anti Status Quo company (Brasilia, Brazil), Ali: Fear Eats the Soul by Sebastian Horvat in the production of Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana (Slovenia), a circus performance Rare Birds by a group of authors, produced by the company “Un Loup pour l’Homme” from Lille  (France), and the performance Invited by the famous company Ultima Vez from Brussels (Belgium), choreographed by Seppe Baeyens.

 

This year, you will have an opportunity to enjoy a range of side programmes in Luka Beograd: Impacts and the Scope of Contemporary Immersive Practices, which will be moderated by theoretician and director Irena Ristić, then one of the traditional programmes, Bitef Library, this time in the form of a three-hour-long marathon which will, occasionally, turn into a performance, and present three books on “bitef-like trends” in theatre and in culture, written by Milena Dragićević Šešić, Ksenija Radulović, and Tina Perić. Cirkobalkana festival brings performances, presentations, performing events, and round-table discussions, thus creating unique experiment of art circus community in Luka Beograd. The same venue will host Meeting the Authors, the follow-up discussions after each of the main programme performances which will take place there. On the last day of the festival, Luka Beograd will also be the place where the closing of this year’s Bitef will be organized, and followed by the After Ten party!

 

 

PLACES TO REST?

 

Before and after the performances and other activities, as well as during the intermissions, Bitef and its partners have organized Food and Drink corners where you can find all kinds of specialties - Pica Fabrika, Dorian Gray, Agi Pasta Away, The Saint, RO and Vegessence, Schweppes. Moreover, you will be able to charge your cell phones at an installation prepared by Telekom Srbija, to refresh with Schweppes cocktails, and to enjoy numerous other surprises prepared by Bitef friends.

 

HOW TO ARRIVE?

 

If you want to benefit from the last summer days and to come on foot, just set off from the Republic Square down Francuska Street, and Žorža Klemansoa Street. Once you reach the neighborhood where some of the popular city spots are - Holesterol, JaM, Kafeterija… go down Žorža Klemansoa Street until you reach Dunavska Street and the tramway trams. Carefully cross them and keep going straight till you reach Luka Beograd.

 

If you are coming from the direction of Pančevo bridge or from Novi Beograd, take the buses No.  16, 23, 35, 27E or 95, get off at the stop “Cvijićeva”, and just walk down Cvijićeva Street, then Knežopoljska Street all the way to Dunav port where our festival city is situated.

 

The direct bus line 44 (Senjak-Viline Vode) takes you directly to Luka Beograd. Bus No. 37 (Pančevo Bridge - Main train station) across the Republic Square brings you to the stop “Gundulićev Venac” where you get off and walk the rest of the path for about ten minutes.

 

Whichever path you take, from the first barrier at the entrance to Luka Beograd it takes about eight minutes to reach the Bitef hangar and the circus tent. Bitef has prepared street signs to help you find the way. Take some time to take a walk and come to the performances!

 

For your cars, Luka Beograd has organized a parking lot which you can use all day long for only RSD100.

On the other hand, if you prefer cycling, electric scooter, or some other relaxing vehicle, do come to Luka Belgrade and enjoy!

 

Wear comfortable clothes and sports shoes, while Bitef team also recommends some clothes that can protect you from wind and keep you warm in case autumn decides to drop by.
