This year’s edition of the festival, seventh in a row, is a synergy of Cirkobalkana, the Bitef Festval, the French Institute and one of the currently most innovative French circus companies, Un Loup pour l'Homme, and their project Ride&Camp. In an effort to deepen cooperation and exchange of artistic practices of the local, regional and European contemporary circus scene, the concept of this year’s festival will focus on the diversity of creative processes in line with the artistic culture and environments in which circus shows are created. The selected works will thus demonstrate the current diversity of circus deliberation by artists from the region but also by a wider European circus scene that is reflected in engagement, experimenting, politicalness as well as in the attitude towards the audience.
During the nine days of the program, in a designed temporary art space in downtown Belgrade, in a circus tent that will be set up, the festival will feature seven shows, three professional development Master classes, a presentation of a joint residential program by young artists from the region and France, concerts, performances and roundtable discussions. This will be a unique experiment by artist and the artistic circus community!
